DIRECT SUPPORT PROFESSIONALS – AUGUSTA, PORTLAND, BANGOR, WARREN
MVRA is hiring for DSPs in our Community Support, In-Home Support, and Residential programs. DSPs assist people with intellectual disabilities in the community and in their home who wish to have greater access to community resources and peer interaction. This is an ideal opportunity for people who are studying Human Services, Psychology, Rehabilitation Therapy, Social Sciences, Sociology, and Special Education. MVRA is looking for people who have the desire to help people learn necessary skills and the ability to encourage a positive atmosphere. Our staff work with members on learning and improving life skills such as making decisions and choices, cooking, shopping, personal hygiene, money management, improving communication and relationship skills, improving sensory and motor skills, self-awareness, behavior management, and coping skills to name a few.
MHRT/1 – AUGUSTA, BANGOR, PORTLAND
Maine Vocational & Rehabilitation Associates (MVRA) is looking for people to work in our Daily Living Skills (DLS) program. This program helps adults who have been diagnosed with mental illness develop and maintain skills that help increase their independence at home and in the community. Experience as a DLS worker is not necessary. Experience being patient, kind, non-judgmental, energetic, good at maintaining boundaries, and good at problem solving is absolutely necessary. Some of the goals DLS staff supports consumers with include housekeeping, budgeting, meal planning, shopping and preparation, learning and using coping skills, learning and using public transportation, accessing community resources and maintain their mental health.

Qualifications for all positions include:
• Must have clean driving record and valid Maine driver's license
• High School Diploma or GED
• Reliable and insured transportation
• Background checks are required for all positions
• Ability to maintain paperwork
• Attends all meetings, as requested and/or scheduled
• Fosters good working relationships clients, natural supports and other professionals
• Serve as a role model to participants involved in the program.
MVRA provides paid trainings, paid holidays, paid time off, and mileage reimbursement.
